Internships and Research Fellowships Print

**ATTENTION: THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY VARY AS THEY ARE ESTABLISHED BY THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION AND IMMIGRATION OF THE GOVERNMENT OF COSTA RICA **

I. Internship Requirements for the University of Costa Rica

  • Letter from the internship supervisor from their home university.
  • Letter from the internship supervisor at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), with the approval of the appropriate academic authority (School Director, Dean or Research Institute). Interns must establish contact with UCR supervisors individually.
  • Study plan approved by both tutors, faculty, Institute or Research Center at the UCR with a detailed plan of the activities.
  • Formal application letter addressed to Dr. Julieta Carranza, Director of the Office of International Affairs and External Cooperation (OAICE) at UCR, indicating the reasons for wishing to carry out the project at the UCR along their personal information.

Upon entry to the country, the intern must go to the OAICE and provide proof coverage of an international health insurance plan covering the entire period that he or she will be conducting academic activities in the UCR. Coverage should include hospitalization, surgery, and repatriation.
